Chamber Choir Dimus

The Chamber Choir Dimus is a mixed choir founded in 1994. The number of singers is about 35, their age varying between 45 and 70. The majority of singers have studied in Helsinki University of Technology, therefore a brisk, vivid and relaxed polytechnic spirit still characterizes musical and leisure activities. All singers have singing experience from a variety of student and other choirs.

Chamber Choir Dimus sings diverse á cappella choir music from Finland and abroad, including classical, religious and modern compositions, folk and light music. A few smaller ensembles have emerged among the singers, giving a nice flavour for concerts. Dimus gives from two to four concerts annually, with varying themes and surroundings.

During more than 25 years of existence the choir has made ten concert tours abroad, latest in Germany (2006), Czech Republic (2010), Austria (2011),St. Petersburg, Russia (2013) and Barcelona and Vilafranca, Spain (2016).

The conductor of Chamber Choir Dimus is Anna-Elina Norjanen, Master of Arts, Musicology. She continues her studies in music and conducting at the Sibelius Academy, the university providing the highest level of music education in Finland.
